A Bucks County business owner will soon head to court after officials say he created false Craigslist ads in order to intimidate a police officer who wrote citations against his pawn shop.

According to authorities, 49-year-old John Dangelo, of Lower Southampton, posted multiple ads on Craigslist that offered free items at the address of the police officer and invited members of the public to stop by to pick them up at any time of day or night, CBS 3 reports.

In the ads, Dangelo advised visitors to enter the home through the back door and to ignore the dog. Several people followed the directions of the posting, showing up when the officer was away and his family present. In one instance, a man tried to enter the side door of the home in search of companionship, as described in a separate ad.

Investigators were able to identify Dangelo, the owner of Dangelo’s Feasterville Pawn Shop, by inspecting phone and email records.

Dangelo, who waived his preliminary hearing, faces multiple charges including felony counts of criminal trespass and unlawful use of a computer.
